Martin Elementary Mission Statement
The mission of Martin Elementary School is to help boys and girls master the academic skills and confidence level needed to be successful now and throughout life.
Martin Elementary Beliefs
1. Student learning and achievement are assessed by various methods.
2. Students need a safe, positive, and physically comfortable environment to promote student learning.
3. Each student is a valued individual with unique physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs.
4. A student’s self-esteem is enhanced by positive relationships and requires respect, self-discipline, and responsibility by the students toward their peers, staff, school property, and community.
5. Students learn best when they are actively engaged in problem solving, decision-making, and critical thinking processes.
6. The school prepares students for a changing world of ecology, the arts, and technology.
7. Student, parent, teacher, and community cooperation, including mutual respect, are essential to the success of the school and the school system.
8. Student learning improves when faculty and staff participate in on-going
professional development activities.
